Try Before You Buy: How Our Service Works

Buying clothes online is easy. Knowing whether they’ll suit you is harder. That’s why Designer Clothing Gallery offers a free “Try Before You Buy” service (also known as clothing “on approval”) for women across New Zealand.

If you’re unsure whether a style, size or colour is right for you, we’ll send it to you free of charge so you can try it at home, in your own mirror, with your own wardrobe.

How Try Before You Buy works

1. Choose your piece.
   Browse our collections and pick one or mutiple styles you’d like to try.
2. Contact us
   Fill out the form via this link or call/text us +64 274 495 086 with your delivery details and credit card details. Your card is not charged at this stage 
3. We send it to you.
   We ship your piece free of charge, anywhere in New Zealand.
4. Try it at home.
   Wear it with your own shoes, jeans or jacket and see how it feels.
5. Let us know within 24 hours.
   If you love it, tell us and we’ll process the payment. If it’s not for you, send it back by courier at your cost to Designer Clothing Gallery, 78 Main St, Greytown.

Why try clothes at home?

• Sizing differs between brands. European labels such as Mos Mosh, POM Amsterdam and Indi & Cold can fit differently from what you’re used to.
• Colours and fabrics look different in real life. You can see how a piece really looks and feels.
• You see how it works with your wardrobe. A piece you already love to style is a piece you’ll wear again and again.
• No pressure. You decide at home, not in a fitting room.

Frequently asked questions

Is Try Before You Buy really free?
Yes, we send your piece to you free of charge anywhere in New Zealand. If you decide not to keep it, the return courier is at your cost. 

How long do I have to decide?
Please let us know within 24 hours whether you’d like to keep your piece or return it. Otherwise we would have to proceed the paiement. 

Can I try more than one size?
Yes you can try mutiple styles if you are unsure. 

Which brands can I try?
All clothing collection. We only send on appro clothing garments. We do not send accessories.
