Greytown Winter Festival of Christmas - Big Switch

Be on Main Street on Friday 1st July, for an opening night like no other.
The festivities will start with our European Style Night Markets, taking place from 3pm.
There will be entertainment, music, sparkly lights and festoons – plus a magical fireworks display that will leave you in awe and wonder! You will also see our historic buildings come to life, when we switch them on for the first time.
Plus local kids will be bringing along their gingerbread decorations to display around the Christmas tree.
The Line up:
3pm onwards: European Style Markets – eat, drink and shop
4.45pm - Wairarapa Youth Orchestra
The Wairarapa Youth Orchestra is the brainchild of Caitlin Morris, who is a dedicated advocate for youth music education in the Wairarapa. Wairarapa Youth Orchestra, consists of wind, brass, string and percussion instruments.
5.20pm - The Glamaphones
Lets get our glam on with The Glamaphones! A mixed community based choir from Wellington with a song sheet that includes pop, classical, spirituals, world, choral, musical and jazz classics.
5.50pm - A Karakia with Papawai Pa
Our local pa will open the festival with a formal blessing.
6:00pm - Fireworks spectacular
A 10 minute fireworks display that will leave you in awe & wonder. Also see our projection lighting displays and Christmas tree get all lit up!
6:15pm - Wairarapa's Talent finalist performers
Two of the recent Wairarapa Talent finalists will be playing some tunes into the night to keep all the festive feels going!
While you're in town, grab a bite to eat from one of our great bars and restaurants, or pick up something at our European Style Night Markets. These are taking place from 3pm every Friday and Saturday for the month of July.
