The make-up for this series, called Glamour Eyes & Hot Lips has been inspired by the glamour of the 1950’s era. Whilst creating these fabrics Penny became aware of how the isolated eye totally portrays personality. Beautiful handwritten words such as glamourise, tantalise, mesmerise, immortalise and romanticise are scattered amongst the images on the Glamour Eyes fabric adding texture and quirkiness, creating a unique look. Tulip, lipstick, underslip and other “lip” words also handwritten to add frivolity to the Hot Lips design.
Keep an “eye” out for her next series of shirts with dark, liquid horses eyes on white cotton, where she explores how horses eyes reflect their mood. She is working on this collection at the moment along with a beautiful series of peonies and roses.
